Kaleidoscopic Visions...Concert Posters of The 60's

A few years ago I went to an exhibit at the Whitney Museum featuring all the gorgeous, colorful concert poster of the 60's. I have always found them so inspirational and indicative of the times, seeing them in person did not disappoint. Inspired by Art Nouveau and born out of the psychedelic culture of the times, they are full of electric colors and an almost kaleidoscopic vision. Although many of the swirling patterns were most likely the result of the popularity of LSD it is obvious that they were greatly influenced by revolutionary political, social and spiritual emotions and sentiments of the times. There is just a freedom about them that I find so beautiful...
