Rosehips...Accidental Brilliance Superfood + Supplement Series...

Over the last year I have been using a face oil with rosehips and this morning as I was putting it on I got curious to find out what else rosehips could be used for in the pursuit of good health. Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant and typically grow in shades of red-to-orange. When it comes to skincare rosehips are known to be an intensive skin rehydrator as well as a skin rejuvenator used to retard the appearance of aging. As a superfood they have over 40x the amount of vitamin C as an orange, sort of amazing. Ultimately these high levels have a tremendous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Also high in vitamin K which has been proven to promote bone health and aid in cancer prevention. The pectin contained in the berries which acts as a fiber helps to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. The oil is even great to massage into the ends of your hair to prevent damage. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find fresh rosehips so, if you are not lucky enough to find them fresh, the powdered dried fruit can also be found in capsule form and is equally potent.
