Tonight marks the sixth year of Earth Hour the worlwide event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to remind us that, we can all make a difference to help the environment. Earth Hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney's lead at 8:30 pm on the last March of the year millions of people in more than 131 countries have banded together in solidarity for Mother Nature and turned off the lights. I have done it each year since and encourage you tonight to turn off the lights, put a few candles on for an hour. In small ways we are all capable of big things, and it is also a nice way to really disconnect for an evening and just be and connect to something bigger than ourselves.
