Accidental Brilliance Superfood + Supplement Series...The Benefits of Hibiscus Tea

I have been a serious tea drinker for as long as I can remember and although I start my day off with a favorite green tea with lemongrass and spearmint, throughout the day I tend to like to mix it up with other herbal blends for their taste and also the benefits they have the body and mind. I recently added hibiscus to my usual green tea blend and was pleasantly surprised at refreshing it was. And, hibiscus has some surprising benefits which just might make it a useful addition to my daily tea habit. One of the most  widely discussed benefits of the tea is the effect it has on blood pressure. It is also recognized as being advantageous in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels and best part in assisting weight loss. The tea has been studied and proven to inhibit an enzyme that breaks down complex carbohydrates and fats. It is suggested that you drink a full cup of the beverage immediately after eating so it can get to work on those carbs and fats. And, now that the warmer weather is just around the corner it is also proven to help cool the body temperature so seems like it just might be the perfect tea to sip by beach, to stay cool and skinny !
