Benefits of Jasmine Tea...Accidental Brilliance Superfood + Supplement Series...

I have long believed that our senses + the way we experience things is the key to our well-being. It is up to each of us to decide how we experience everything that crosses our path. I believe that sense memory is very important in maintaining a balanced life. By that I mean that the way we remember things- the way they looked, sounded, felt, and tasted. Try it, think about an experience where you felt happy or content,  there is no doubt a sense memory is attached to it. You can probably recall the way someone looked- what they were wearing, the way it felt to hug them, the scent of their perfume or the smell of the candle that was burning, the sound of their voice or the taste of something you ate and drank- instantly through the senses you are transported to the moment, this moment where you felt content. I recently had a cup of jasmine tea + instantly without thinking about it after the first sip was transported back to a day where I knew complete happiness. It was years ago, I took an impromptu road trip by myself up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur...a day I will never forget. I am not sure what it was but, I was overcome with a sense of how amazing life is, I remember feeling lucky, feeling happy. There is a mythical quality to Big Sur, a beauty + energy  that is unsurpassed + so rare. I think back to that day often, to the small bake shop I found where I stopped for a cup of jasmine tea, the taste still lingers + on days where I feel a bit lost or unsure, I travel back to that day  + let the feeling of happiness I experienced surround me.

Today I bought a box of jasmine tea + realized that when it comes to tea, jasmine is not only delicious but so good for you. The antioxidants in jasmine tea can help protect your body against damage from free radicals. It has been proven to have the same properties as green tea + proven to promote weight loss. It has also been proven to reduce fat + aid in cholesterol absorption. There have been many studies that point to the fact that it helps in preventing cancer. Best of all jasmine essential oil is believed to have a tranquilizing effect proven to act as a mild sedative. So on the days when you feel a bit stressed or the nights you can't fall asleep a cup of warm jasmine tea might just fix you right up.
