Confucius said " life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated ". I think about that often + know that simple is indeed best...I try to remind myself of that each day. We tend to complicate our existence distracting ourselves from ourselves but, even the most complex people have the capacity to be simple. Don't make things so complicated... live, seek + be simple...I know it is the only way to be.

...my father built the stage at Woodstock + my mother always loved Richie Havens...I imagine that is why he has always been one of my favorite voices. Today when I heard he had passed on I felt this strange emotion wash over me...there weren't really words, instead I went to listen to his music. His voice has always struck me as the calm after the storm...strong yet perfectly peceful. His rendition of the classic Van Morrison song Tupelo Honey has lulled me to sleep many nights over the years...
...you are all my hopes + dreams gathered up in a giant gift-wrapped kiss he told her. And he was the one she had saved up all her kisses for. You are the sum of all my blessings he said. And he was the one she had prayed for. I want to run away with you he said. And so she packed her bags.
Over the last few years I have become fascinated with essential oils + flower essences. I have studied up on how to mix them, how to use them for everything from layering them in place of perfume to using them to soothe + repair skin. There are so many amazing uses from massaging a few drops of lavender oil on the temples to ease a headache, to using a few drops of frankincense oil to combat feeling down or tired. I am pretty loyal to using face oils morning + night that are packed with essential oils. I have been using one that contains a mixture of rose and carrot seed essential oils lately + after doing a little research it seems like carrot seed oil packs a pretty powerful punch. It might be one of the most underrated essential oils out there. Wellness, detoxifying + rejuvenation would be the key buzz words that would describe this oil. It has a soft earthy smell which helps activate it's proven stress relieving characteristics. When applied to the skin, the skin's epidermal cells are stimulated which keeps wrinkles in check. It is also one of the most helpful oils in trying to ease the mind + keep stress away. It has also been shown to alleviate skin problems like acne, psoriasis, wounds + dry skin. When applied to sore muscles it amps up circulation + blood flow to the area, so it is great after a workout or to help relieve arthritis. There are all sorts of uses for this wonderful oil but, this simple to make face mask is a favorite for detoxifying + revealing glowing skin.

...because on certain days the same old same just won't do the trick. It's the twists + turns, the unexpected encounters + experiences where suddenly life begins to make sense or better yet, where we get the drive to find sense in who we are, where we are. Without knowing it we wait for these moments, these uncertain times to push ourselves forward in the pursuit of the life we are meant to live.

...you yourself deserve not only your love + affection. You deserve to be appreciated, to be treated gently + kindly. You deserve all of this from each person that you meet but most importantly you deserve this from yourself to yourself.

...there is no simpler way to live than to live with gratitude for all that crosses our path. It is gratitude that allows us to appreciate what we have + helps us attract more of what we deserve. It is gratitude that indeed turns what we have into enough.

...hats off to Spring + welcoming in all that is new. To the reminder to go out + find new experiences, people + places that inspire you to go beyond your comfort zone, beyond what you already know because that is where life opens up. A leap of faith, we all have to take them + take them more often than we think.

There is that old Allman Brothers song that goes...take one last look before you go. Lately the thought crosses my mind- we spend so much of our time + our effort moving forward. Yet, we seldom stop to think about all the things we are carrying with us that are making the trip just a little bit more treacherous. The beautiful thing about being human is that we have the capacity to hold within our being all the experiences we have had over the course of a lifetime. What we might not realize is that within those experiences there may be a few that we don't need to necessarily continue to carry, that do not belong. The heartbreaks, the let-downs, the things that did not work out because they were not meant to. Take one last look + let them go making room for all the wonderful that will fill in the spaces you open. No matter what point you are at on the journey that is your life it is never to late to go, do or be whatever it is you feel deepest in your heart + in your soul.

She asked him if he was her soul mate although she knew better, she knew that it was deeper than that. There was a resonance, a recognition, a potent alchemy that surpassed the nature of any other connection. A sacred alliance, as unfamiliar as it was familiar. He told her to trust him so she let him lead the way. She closed her eyes + took his hand.

For me there is no end to the quest to live the healthiest life I can. My radar is always up to find supplements, potions + tricks to feel strong, stay young + look my best. I have been using Sea Buckthorn or Omega 7 topically as a face oil for quite sometime + think it does wonders for the skin. I got curious about taking it as a supplement + was pleasantly surprised to find out how amazing this supplement is in the pursuit of healthy skin, hair + overall well-being. There is plenty of hype about Omega Fatty Acids or fish oils however Sea Buckthorn derived from plants which contains many of the omega fatty acids contains one that sets it apart- Omega 7. It is proven to rejuvenate the skin + promote healthy healing. It has also been researched as a powerful source of nourishment for the skin's collagen + elasticity helping to stave off or reverse wrinkles. Omega 7 is without a doubt a key building block to enabling healthy skin, hair and nails. It also helps the body maintain itself in many other ways including helping to counteract weight gain, maintain digestive + respiratory tract wellness as well as neutralize free radicals which means, it is key in the journey towards anti-aging. For each of us the journey is different to wellness but as I always say, you deserve to feel strong, well + happy. It is up to you to take charge of your health...mind, body + spirit.
